‘Tsunami’ nominated in Wales

Iranian movie ‘Tsunami’ has won a nomination at the Wales Film Festival.

Iranian movie ‘Tsunami’ has won a nomination at the Wales Film Festival.

The film directed by Milad Sadrameli nominated at the best Foreign Language Film category of the 2020 edition of the festival.

This is the first international screening of the film produced by Ali Sartipi.

‘Tsunami’ narrates the story of an experienced athlete who wants to regain his previous status. For his to achieve what he wants, he must face a rising athlete who also is after fame and recognition. Their confrontations and also their personal lives with their wives make the whole plot of the flick.

“An Iranian taekwondo athlete is so drowned in his sport activities and competitions that problems hit his personal life like a tsunami,” a short synopsis of the flick read.

The cast list of the film includes Bahram Radan, Mehrdad Seddiqian, Alireza Shojanouri, Fereshteh Hosseini, Alireza Varzandeh, Amir Shariat, Amir-Mehdi Jule and Mohammad-Reza Ghaffari.

Due to the COVID19 restrictions, the 4th edition of the WalesIFF was held virtually and the nominations were announced on August 28.

The winners will be announced on September 17 and a mini celebration will be held in 2021 for the winners.
